Hi Reader,
On 25th November, I turned 35.
Today, I want to reflect upon and share 35 Life Lessons for My 35th Birthday.
These are learnings for me, and I hope they can serve as a good reference.
Fundamental Lessons:
- Energy flows where awareness goes.
- Be aware of yourself, your purpose, and the present moment.
- Everything you do fuels your purpose.
- My purpose is service—to my family, my team, my clients, and society.
- You can only serve when you’re happy and healthy.
Productivity:https://rishgrowth.comhttps://rishgrowth.com
- Design your ideal day.
- Most of what we are is what we do repeatedly.
- Use daily habits to automate your success.
- Writing, deep work, and exercise are the domino habits that improve all other areas of life.
- Aim to hit your daily habits 300 days each year. That’s 80% done.
Money:
- Money, at this point, is just a way to buy more time and freedom.
- Knowing that I can be fine without taking on a new client or project helps me choose the best ones to serve and deliver.
- Make investing decisions based on what helps me sleep best at night.
- Use money to buy back time, experiences, and memories, as these compound—just like money.
- Let money work to make more money.
Health:
- Do not eat 4 hours before sleeping and 4 hours after waking up.
- Target 7-8 hours of sleep each night, but don’t obsess over sleep optimisation.
- Eat mostly proteins (seafood, eggs, legumes), vegetables, and fruits.
- Train 6x per week (3x strength, 3x cardio) with the goal of overall fitness and energy.
- Practice mindfulness in daily activities.
Business:
- Wealth is created in proportion to value delivered.
- Deliver value by moving the needle for clients.
- The client’s North Star is my North Star.
- Constantly improve your skills and your team to deliver more value.
- Business is about serving your clients, your team members, and society.
Family:
- The only thing children want from you is your presence; be present.
- Children grow up fast—focus on the quantity of time, not just the quality.
- The key principle of both parenting and leadership is the same—to be a good example.
- Watch the sunset with family as a daily habit.
- The key to good parenting is self-improvement and self-awareness.
Others:
- Everything is better when done with depth.
- Do fewer things, but do them better. Take fewer clients, have fewer meals, and keep fewer possessions.
- Knowing what to focus on is the most important decision to make.
- Keep bringing the focus back to things you can control.
- Do not regret anything.
Best wishes,
Rishabh
